OK my phone has been rooted for a while and I don't have service on it but when I want to connect a wifi network it says it is connected but I cant go on the internet or do anything that has to do with the internet I'm wondering how do I fix this
 
Could you please look under settings>about phone and tell me what baseband version and build number your phone is?

Who's yout service provider? Boost or Sprint, Currently the reason why your having that problem is because when samsung pushed out the "FD11" update way back in june of this year which is the one your running. It had a few bugs that needed to be fixed but they pushed out another one to fix thoses bugs like 2 mounths ago. I can give you a copy of the update and you can follow the instructiosn on how to install it imediately depending on which carrier you have. The OTA for FG11 is still available so you should be able to get it just by going to settings->About Phone-> System Updates and tap to let your phone check for "Update Firmware" and "Update Samsung Software".

Just in case you don't have the Sprint update to FG11, I also have that update.
 
Yeah, what chev said... that version you are using has a known bug to cause issues with certain dns servers when using wifi, an update is recommended.. hold for links...

Install this first to make sure the following roms are compatible with your recovery tool.
