I have a virgin Mobile galaxy s2 how do I keep the screen on while I'm talking on the phone it keeps on turning itself off every 10 seconds it only happens when I am talking on the phone

That sounds like the proximity sensor shutting the screen off when you out it up to your head so you don't press buttons

This. If you want to use the screen while talking then don't put anything near the top of the phone (area around the speaker) and it shouldn't turn off the screen.

I turned off my proximity sensor in the menu and it still shuts off during a call does anyone know how to keep my phone on while I'm talking to someone

I think it's suppose to do that. As long as the screen comes back on when you take it away from your ear, its working right. I didn't even know you could turn it off.
