I even tried to take my Evo to the store for repair.
They told me they couldn't replace the port because it was part of the motherboard and they didn't work on that. They offered a replacement for me...I refused. That's another story.....
However, perhaps you can tackle it yourself with the guide that the shiny robot linked, but that is some delicate soldering I must say.
And if a stubby fingered robot cannot handle it, perhaps we need to find an upgraded, skilled one :eviltongue: j/k Ocn!!
Similar to Mikey, I asked a repair shop how much it would cost and they said $60 but they couldn't guarantee it would be a permanent repair. They said it could easily break again (in other words, they were very reluctant).
An alternative is to buy spare batteries and use an external charger and replace the battery as needed. (Kind of like what a robot does )
