This has happened twice. I wake up in the morning and see random Chinese characters on my ellipsis 7 tablet. I selected random things both times and it made a awful screeching sound and powered off. When i turned it back on it was back to normal but I'm afraid one time I'm going to delete something of break it. Do you know how to do this correctly.

LOL, sounds like a "howler" from the Harry Potter movies/books .

I'm guessing we might need a screen shot / picture or something to even try to figure-out what it might be (pinging @mikedt for his always helpful expertise here ).

It is a Chinese device. Might be an underlying problem with it, or could just be a one off. See if it happens again, and post a pic if you can.
