Helpful Tips (for Newbies)

So interesting issue once again with Astro. It only backed up the apps stored exclusively on my phone. Anything moved to the SD card wasn't backed up. Anyone else have this happen and figure out how to find them?

Just abandoned my EPIC and moved on to the Photon......it Rocks....so far.

2 Qs.......
1. How the heck do I get the battery cover off w/o breaking it?
I will goto to the store if necessary.
2. Mind appears to not have come with a Micro SD card....prob that is the way they ship. If so, I'll insert my 16gb and upgrade later to a 32gb.

Thx,
Phil R

Hey pj, the Photons do not come with an SD card since they have around 8 gigs of free internal storage. As for the battery, that is one of the complaints it's pretty tough to get off with out feeling like you're breaking it. I simply start to open from the bottom end (kickstand side) and move on up to the top slowly with out a lot of force. Seems to work the best.

How to toggle 3g data on and off (All credit goes to user Bandage)

Ok so those of you who own the Photon have probably noticed Motorola buried the Data Toggle option deep in menus were not used to finding them in. None of the current Toggle / Widget apps support access to this menu with a single click.

EarlyMon (Android Forums) pointed out a free Toggle App, that with some exploration and trial I was able to come up with a work-around that allows a single press Data Toggle.

Thanks burgertime. Can you explain what this toggle does? Does it only turn 3g on/off? if I had 4g on would that stay on? HOw about wifi or 2g (if that exists anymore)? I guess I am trying to understand when I should use it. thanks, your posts have been GREAT by the way. D

Yes it would only turn 3G off. Yes if you had 4G on, it would stay on. There are toggles for wifi and not sure about the 2G.
