i just found the froyo to put my ascend to 2.2 and it was downloading and backing up my rom and i did it , and my phone is still in the huawei scren like when it restarts.

You may have to flash to stock - Go into Recovery Mode and Flash to stock by downloading the file and applying it.

you need to pull the battery. But if you aren't installing CM6 (the only stable fully functional FroYo rom) then you are taking chances. The other 2.2 rom is based off a chinese phone and may (will eventually) give you a UIM error and you will have to reflash your phone. Pip is working on a 2.2 based on the TapOut edition Ascends rom. But Metro put some things in it to make it difficult. He is close though.
