Heres the key to long battery life.

For those that may be interested...

I was running my phone for about 1 week before deciding that I would give JD a try.

Note: I run the Telus version so I have less crap killing my battery so the % indicated will differ from what you guys/gals have. Also to note is that I have background junk sync turned off since I don`t need FB and Twitter. Also to note is that I have stopped using live wallpapers, but will start using them again and see how badly that hurts the battery life.

Before JuiceDefender:
In general terms - start day at 100% around 8:30am and unplug. Make/receive several calls, a few text messages, 3 x E-mail accounts set to sync every 15 minutes in the stock e-mail app and many many e-mails in, a few out. No G-Mail. Turn Bluetooth & GPS on and WiFi off when in car, vice versa when in office (sometimes forget). Some Web, Gas Buddy, a bit of Google Maps, some Market app d/l and install. By 5pm I was roughly at 30% and disappointed since my old HTC Touch Pro 2 Windows Mobile would last much longer.

After JuiceDefender Free version was installed and running in the balanced mode with no modifications I now finish my day with around 60% left. The only thing I sometimes manually change is turning Bluetooth off since JD does not.

This may be a bit skewed since I now use the Market less. I do game more at about 7pm (damn Drag Racing addiction) and can play longer since the level is so much higher at the end of the day.

All in all, JD Free is amazing and has basically made this phone one heck of a powerhouse that can be used as intended for at least 1.5 days without charging.

ultimate key to long battery life for me has been this;

root the phone
install juggernaut v2.0, and jugs v0.3 kernel
install fauxclock
set min clock to 384mhz (stock)
and max to about 1500mhz (stock clock speed as well)
leave the profile to 'ondemand'

i've been able to achieve upwards of 30hrs on a charge.

:)

Just run juice ultimate and yes its better than regular. Just set your battery saver settings and run juice and put your screen brightness way down. Thats all you need. In the menu settings go to power saver mode to adjust settings on the phone.

Does rooting the phone mess it up?
