Hi guys, just thought I would share.
I got fed up with my e mail going off every 20 mins and couldn't find a way to alter the rate that the phone picks them up so I switched my internet off using a widget so it's nice and easy to get to.
I now just switch it on when I want to check things like emails or face book.
I swith it on and press refresh. So far my batterie has lasted nearly 3 days and is still showing as half full!

And my email is not going off all the time.

My record was 85 hours :) with no switching off mobile internet and 3 hours of "screen on" though only (stock rom and no root). So what you basicly did is getting a smart phone and made it into a normal phone :)

(btw widget for mobile internet? long press the end call button there should be an option for that and you wont have any more extra service/widget running and you will get maybe some time more)

I guess it depends how necessary it is for you to be connected 24/7 and how often you can charge it.

Everyone will find their own balance of the two.

That is easy. In the HTC email widget hit the button to the left with the three horizontal lines. Then menu>more>settings>Send & Recieve>set download frequency and choose the frequency. If you do not want auto download then choose manual.
