Seriously, like, WTF... a post or 2 above it says, flat out, this will NOT work on updated phones, u MUST use Odin...3-4 times............

People that are new to the forum haven't quite got it down pat how things work around here yet . They'll learn . ;)

do you guys have a thread showing how to root with odin in good detail, ive seen a few things about it but not enough for this noob to wanna give it a shot. i would really like to not brick my phone if possible. would the one click work if i reset my phone to factory? sorry for all the questions, im hella new to this stuff and i really want to get rid of all those stupid fuggin apps that come on my phone

all the issues the previous users have talked about have happened to me. i have tried everything you have suggested. killing the adb.exe file in taskmanager, starting the .bat file when the samsung screen appears. unmounting my sd card. factory resetting the phone. im on my 20th time attempting and each time i get the same error messages.

Just stop and think for a minute . Do you think that Odin has worked for hundreds of people and just for some reason won't work for you ? I am 99.999% sure that Odin will work on your phone .

Have you got the drivers for it? All of them? even the ones that don't come standard? If not are you using the right usb port... If you are have you tried a different computer/usb cable?

Did you take your sd card out before u started it. it's been so long if I remember you had to take your sd card out before you ran it

Please help..tried everything. Odin, a one click by doomlord and another one, cant remember the name. Odin did install superuser, thought I was good to go but tried to install adblock and it says su binary not found...so does busybox.
I tried the Prevail-Replenish-New-OCR.zip and this is what I got:

* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *

I rooted my phone in January using the procedures listed in this post. After the upgrade to 2.3.6 it appears that superuser is no longer of use. I'd like to remove superuser and Titanium back up to free up memory. I really don't want to go back to the original SAMSUNG software pack with all of its bloatware that I was able to remove after rooting. What is the best way to accomplish the removal.

I am grateful for any help.

You COULD remove them OR you could make them usable again.
Either choice [sub]will[/sub][sup] require [/sup][sub] Odin [/sub] both will replace the removed bloat (the latter will allow you re-remove the bloat)

hey guys, lordvincent asked me to stop on in and update the main post. stop trying the exploit was patched in 2.3.6.

zergrush was patched in 2.3.5, there is no new exploit to have a one click root and there wont be any time soon. i stated why in teh first post. i left the link up in case anyone still wishes to download it though for educational purposes :)
