Root hey guys, newbie here again...

I am rooted, s-off'd, and currently running Mobster ROM HD & wanted to try out Dirty Unicorns 4.2.2 & I see it says "Make sure you're NOT using the 1.58 HBOOT (this will cause reboots and other issues)" so how do I change this 1.58 HBOOT so that I can properly flash this ROM???

Well to change a hboot, take the hboot you want and then change its name to PG86IMG and place in the root of your sd card. You then have to boot into the bootloader then it will "update" (basically change the hboot). If you're on a custom rom just hold the power button, choose restart, then bootloader.
It's pretty simple. :)
 
From within MobsterHD the reboot menu has the option to boot into bootloader. Once in the bootloader, it will show the hboot version at the top.
 
after you flash the hboot remember to delete the PG86IMG.zip from your sd card, or it will bite you back if you need to get into bootloader again for any reason in the future.
 
so since it's saying I have hboot 1.57 I should be okay with flashing the Dirty Unicorns rom? It just says don't use 1.58..
 
To be clear, the HBOOT you'll want is 1.50.5050. There are two "1.50" HBOOTs for this phone, and 1.50.5050 is the one people above are referring two.

Here is a link to the 1.50.5050 HBOOT. Rename the file to "PG86IMG.zip" [if you can't see .zip on the file name after you download it, do not add '.zip'] and put it on the root (not inside of any folders) of your SD Card. Reboot to the bootloader (should be an option in your ROM when you press the power button), and confirm the update. Once it's done, delete the file from your SD Card immediately.
 
Okay, I need some help with this. I went to take my stock rom phone, evo v 4g, and put a custom rom on it. I forgot to take out my 32gb sd card when I went to do the s-off, and i am on hboot 1.58.0000. I can not install anything, I was able to get 4ext on there, and I tried to use the htc rom utility, but no luck. I am stuck and I am seriously freaking out. any help would be appreciated.

Is your phone booting up?
 
What JuopunutBear screen [there are multiple]? Please describe the contents of the screen, and do so for future responses to avoid confusion.
 
lol. No worries . you havent bricked your phone


just keep tring the wire trick it means you havent done it succesfully. run jbear again and when prompted do the wire trick..

I tried this actually, but at the end it says that the device is still sober.

There is currently no ROM installed, I have a recovery installed, but I can't flash any ROMs as it just goes back to the previously mentioned screen. any suggestions?
