Hey! just made the switch from the DI to the X !

WOW , what a phone so far, just the keyboard alone I LOVE , I have huge hands so this phone was made for me.

Can someone tell me some key things I should do first ?

And how do I get that HTC weather thing ? also, should I use LP?

I updated the phone out of box and did a factory reset - anything else after Froyo 2.2 ?

I missed sense hardcore after switching to the Fascinate. LP and BW make just as good if not a better customization-able fun option.

There is a free version of Launcher Pro that will give you the basic benefits (custom launcher apps/icons, custom desktop icons, up to 7 screens, etc...), but the paid version is well worth it. It gives you resizable widgets, some awesome Twitter, Facebook, Calendar, Messaging, Bookmarks, and now a Friends widget that combines Twitter and Facebook.

You can check out the differences on their website here. It is about to get an overhaul. he developer posted on his site yesterday that he has started rewriting the code from scratch to eliminate some issues with legacy and unsupported code.
