Hey look, it's 4.0.3!!!

It doesn't sync contacts though. :(

Am i the only one who is happy about this? Maybe everyone else doesn't have 500-600 FB friends, but i certainly wouldn't want that many in my phone. I will always have a sour taste for FB sync though. On my blackberry, it would sync every single birthday to your calendar on your first sign in and automatically set off a notification at 12:01 AM. wow, that was frustrating!!

I don't personally use it, but I see why others do. It is always best to have the choice, it is simple to say no to syncing the contacts, so I would rather have the option to say yes or no. ;)

I think most people want it for the ability to sync the photos from your contacts' Facebook page, not to sync ALL of your Facebook contacts to the phone. There is an option to sync your contacts with Facebook (adding all Facebook contacts into your phone) or sync just with the contacts already in your phone. This is what I miss, especially with the new People app featuring large profile photos. Almost all of mine are a blank gray face. =(

Yeah, sometimes we'd wake our kids up with this nonsense. She has (had, got her Nexi today, I'm still deployed and won't have till tomorrow) a Storm 2 and she always checks on the kids before we hit the hay. That thing had a knack for going off right when she was messing with them. Then came the peeing and watering and asking if it was time to get up.

Not happy with that feature.

I use Google Contact Sync it will pull all the pictures from Facebook works for me

I'm just hoping that when it gets pushed out, Facebook updates their app with it, and the People app would look EXACTLY like if you sync contacts with Google+.

Hoping....

soon i hope. I think the last i heard it would be the month of January.

oh and ....

Roll Tide :D
We're probably waiting on VZW to approve the update to make sure it works with Backup Assistant and My VZW. Oh well, still loving my Galaxy "Nexus."

Oh, and ...

More like Tide Rolled! Did they hold tryouts to find a new kicker yet? :p

The statement about "in the coming weeks" was in reference to 4.0.3 being called "base ICS", the version that will be given to Motorola and HTC and the others to adapt to their respective UI skins, which will take a few months. I suspect us Nexus users will see 4.0.3 within a few days.

i think itll take motorola way more than a few months from now to update or release phones with ics, based on their recent bionic debacle ....

So any rumors as to when we get the next update, be it 4.0.3 or 4.1?

soon i hope. I think the last i heard it would be the month of January.

Yeah, it looks like (depending upon quality of source) one towards the end of January (4.0.3?) and and another expected one ~early March (4.1?):

I don't see the volume issue listed, other than "navigation"... :-(

Speaking of, just a warning to those who grabbed Volume+ and are using it to boost speaker volume...

You may want to disable volume+ prior to flashing 4.0.3 (or a future update if the speaker quietness isn't addressed in 4.0.3) because if it does boost the volume somehow, you're going to be attenuating that volume even more and could blow out or damage your speaker.

Just a warning, it would suck to have your guys' speakers get blown because it's effectively being boosted twice!

I think the volume issue will be thrown in on the Next update, honestly I just need a tiny bump for mine to be just where I need it to be. Not bothering with Volume +, the thought of blowing out the Speaker to me is not worth the headaches.

sorry, but I need to correct you. Attenuating means lessening. I think you mean to say "going to be increasing"

Yeah, I meant increasing the volume. Thanks for clarifying.

Basically, if you boost it twice, it could mean damaging the speaker. Just a warning to folks who have downloaded Volume+ or similar.
