Hi Everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Daniel, from West London UK.

I have just received my first ever Android phone!!

Its a HTC Hero in white :-) I have previously had an iphone (original and 3g) and have just left blackberry, which was an 8900 and this hero rocks!! kicks ass to both of them, well nearly, lol

The only thing I REALLY miss about my blackberry was it has UMA connectivity which sadly this HTC Hero doesnt seem to have, which is a pain in the bum as I have such a poor signal in my apartment, ohh well.

Im so excited about seeing the new 2.0 software, or from what I hear we will be going straight o 2.1 for hero?? I know I have only just got the hero, but I love new things, so the new software will be great!!!

Anyway, Im sure I am going to have loads of questions in time, and I will do my best to search for an answer before I ask, but Im really rubbish using forum searches, lol.

The Hero should receive the 2.1 update {Droid is 2.0 so after bug fixes etc. It's 2.1 which we'll have}

Nice to see a person from West London too ;)

Hey Carl, woohooO!! another west londoner!!

wil 2.1 enable UMA do you know? or is UMA hardware specific?
 
I popped a question on there, the new android phone coming soon to orange will have uma, thats why I was asking :o\ lets wait and see :-)
 
Welcome to the forums! :) The Hero doesn't have the hardware to be able to use UMA, so the update won't be enabling it.
