Hi everyone,
I just got the droidx 3 days ago and have spent over 20hours on the dam thing. Dont get me wrong this is going to be the best phone I ever had as soon as I get everything working right...i hope. Not really that happy with my blackberry storm I replaced. Had probelms with receiving email, spent 3 hours on the phone with Verizon & Motorola to find I already did everything they suggested. Searched on internet and did everything they suggested. Finally went to motorola site and hooked up to the diagnostics via cable between phone & PC & not really helped but they suggested a clean and restore to factory settings. Did it and reset everything and the email now works just fine both ways. Today trying to set up my Jawbone bluetooth. It paired OK and connnected the first time OK but now when I make calls I cant hear anything. dont know what is going on yet. I hope I dont have to clean and reset up everything! Gotta go. Ttyl.

Yea me too. Nice but most of the problem is that it is too "smart" and there is limitted programming allowed. The guy from motorola on the phone said I need to take it back to versizon but I am going to leave that as the last resort. I am no nuby to computers but when your hands are tied and ther is little you can do where do you go? Oh well thats why Im here. hope I can learn a little and share a little when I figure something out. Not givin up yet.

also if you have any questions reguarding your bill etc let me know I work at a verizon retailer and can try and help you smoetimes!

out of curiosity what type of email were you setting up?

email from Comcast.net and from my own domain .com. neither one of them worked at first but now they are working OK. tx for the offer on the billing...no problems as of now. i keep it in mind. signing off for today. hope to talk later. NTMU

Welcome to the Android Forums!

From what I've seen Comcast and Android don't seem to always get along well... Best I can figure is that Comcast is doing something non-standard as most other email providers seem to work OK with Android.

Actually the comcast account set up automatically the other one had to be entered manually. Something got screwed up when the guy from verizon originally set it up. I was not even getting error messages when the email didn't send. after clean & re set up there were error messages when the mail didn't send until I got the security right for each account. Now they both are working great. Searching the internet for the email sending problem brought up a lot of people with the same problems. Glad to be past that problem. now I have a Jawbone/bluetooth problem.

comcast is my least favorite email service to set up 9/10 it gives me an issue, but at least you got that set up!

now with the jawbone, you said it pairs and then just disconnects after one use? have you tried to connect the bluetooth to another phone? i have a old jawbone prime that i can try syncing with my GF's droid x later tonight and see if maybe its something to do with the two devices.

Re jawbone. I used it with my blackberry with no problems. So when I connect I can hear the connect and disconnect tones but when there is a call I cant hear anything.

So I am looking at all the apps and am amazed at all there is for this phone. awsome! what I am concerned about at this point before I add too much....what is the best security software for the DroidX? I got way too much too loose if my security is compromised.

The challenge you may be running into is based on compatibility of Bluetooth stacks. The stack on the Jawbone might be more compatible with that on your old Blackberry. The stack on your phone may simply have some omissions that impede it's ability to communicate with the headset.

Have you checked the Jawbone web site to see if they have any recommendations? Also the newer Jawbone headsets like the Jawbone Icon provide update software for the PC that allows the firmware on the headset to be upgraded.

Jawbones user forums also provide a lot of info. I did a quick search and found a lot of references on the forum to Android...

hmm securtiy software thats kind of a tricky one. since there arent any true viruses out its hard to judge wether ones better than the other with out any trial by fire.
with that said the name I hear getting thrown around the most is lookout.

Also dont use a pattern unlock for you phone use a number or something, its very easy to bypass the pattern just by looking at were the smudges are and what direction.
