Well hi Arjs and welcome to Android Forums! You'll find a great deal about rooting, depending on your specific device. Pick your device's forum, and there should be an "All Things Root" section in it.
Remember that rooting, in and of itself, does not change a thing on the phone. All it does is give you unlimited access to the phone's restricted system files... allowing you to use them to your advantage (as in Titanium Backup) and change them (or even replace the entire operating system).
Enjoy and make sure to ask any questions you have about rooting and ROMming BEFORE you do anything! Root access is very powerful... and we don't want you to have any problems that you can't fix right away
