Hi everyone

I have just bought my first Android phone - Htc Desire HD - and I love it..... I think

After reading many, many, many posts on this forum - thank you to all the posters btw - I have managed to do most of what I wanted but I am still at a loss on some aspects.

Could someone please explain to me how to get my contacts from the sim card into the phone itself so I can modify them. I think my brain has fried! :o

Thank you all in advance:o

Welcome!

To add them to the Phone itself, you'll need to open the contacts app, hit the menu button, then Import/Export, then Import from SIMCard.

I'm not sure if you'll be given the option, but if you are, you'll want them as google contacts, that way they'll be backed up to the gmail account associated with the handset. Failing that, backing them up to the phone is sufficient.

^^^ good advice ^^^

Just in case you don't have an google account, create one! It is one of the greatest things with Android. If you lose, break or change phones you have your entire address book backed up to your google account.

If you decide later to root your phone you will start flashing roms and having you address book automatically backed up is great. Sign into your google account on your phone and your contacts are put back for you.

Have fun with your new phone, it was a very good choice.
