Hi! New to Android!

Just wanted, like many others, to say HI :). I'm brand spanking new to Android. I've been an Apple fan for years and still use and enjoy their products but recently I decided I wanted to get to know the Android experience. I have an iPhone and didn't want a second phone(I was drooling over a friend's HTC One though) and then I saw the Galaxy Note tablet(the small one) and remembered that I was also coveting the S-pen on the Note phone. I thought here was a way to try out Android without committing to a phone contract(although I did sign up for some cellular data.) I'm an artist and have always wished Apple would come up with something like the S-pen. I hate most styli. I've been playing around with the app Infinite Painter and its amazing. I had bought the iPad Mini thinking that would be my mobile sketch pad, but that's now been pushed aside for my new Note!

Getting used to this new Android environment has been a little overwhelming, yet exciting too. Things that I've always wanted to do on my Apple devices I can now do on Android, yet things that I didn't give much thought to on iOS now cause me concern in Android(security, the app permission notes that pop up when I go to download an app). I have too many questions in general to put here. I mainly just wanted to introduce myself, especially as someone who isn't on one side or the other- I guess I'm Bi-OS!

Hey there and welcome to the forums!

Congrats on your new android tablet :)

I think as far as the app permissions go, as long as you download from the playstore, you shouldn't have any security issues to worry about.

Granted there are some that still worry even though the playstore is the safest place to download any app, but there are so many more, myself included that don't even pay attention to the permissions as I know I shouldn't have to worry about anything.

If you side load any apps, as in downloading off of an unsecured website. That's when you should worry about security issues.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask :)
