hi

hi,

im new to android phones and the forum.

for all the problems posted here, i take comfort that some are because people are new to smart phones and dont know how to work them yet, and some are real issues.
also, theres a much higher % of people not having any trouble with their phones at all and have no need for help forums.

android is in a class of its own, but that said, its odd that music, pictures, and videos are all places in the /sdcard camera folder. then when its time to play these files, theres 'music' to play music, 'gallary' to view pictures, but no dedicated video player application to play videos?
sure, a video application can be downloaded, but there should be one as standard that plays mp4, divx, and flv for a o.s of this stature.

anyway, happy to be here.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

I believe many of the things you describe may be specific to Samsung phones. On my Droid X I have a music folder for music, video folder for videos, ringtone folder for ringtones, and picture folder for pictures.

ok thanks, that would explain some of it, plus since ive downloaded samsung's 'Kies' i now have a media folder for music, so it looks like it depends on tha make of mobile and its sync software.
i still feel there should be a multi format video player as standard with all android phones though. maybe it will be by the time a new post 2.3 android is released.

i hope to help anyone whenever possible, and thanks for the welcomes guys.
