hi

Hello,
I bought a EVO 4g not too long ago. It the first android phone I've ever owned. I love my phone, even though I dont get 4g, and sprint has a good unlimited data plan. But I feel like my phone has a lot more potential than its using. I've been looking into rooting my phone and was wondering if it would void my geeksquad insurance. Also I might get the evo 3d after its been out for a bit if it gets good reviews since I have bestbuys buy back. Idaho theres a successful way to unroot than it might not be a problem. Any comments would help and ill look around on previous threads. Thanks a lot.

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread got carried away typing

Welcome to the Android Forums.

You get the best information on the EVO 4G in that specific forum. Browse on over and make yourself at home.

There is also a section just for rooting. Since I don't have the EVO 4G, I'll have to defer that answer to more knowledgeable folks.

andriod910,

Welcome to AndroidForums!

I'm not sure if the Evo 4G uses the Z4root method that works on the Froyo (2.2) version of Android. I'm pretty sure that GingerBread started being released or pushed-out on Friday, and I'm not sure if the GingerBreak root method works for the Evo 4G.

Your best bet regarding root-related questions would be to post a question over in the Evo 4G root subforum:

EVO 4G - All Things Root - Android Forums

Good luck and again, welcome!
