Unable to set my epic to autocorect does anyone know how to set it

Not exactly sure, since the auto-correct settings probably differ from phone-to-phone and Android version.
Try going into Settings -> Language & Keyboard -> Multi-touch keyboard (or something similar (this is what I have on my phone)).
