G'day from Sydney, Australia.
I'm a new member here. I don't have an Android device yet. I have "that other phone" at the moment. I've preordered a Galaxy Nexus.
I'm primarily interested in app development. I don't do it professionally anymore, or even commercially. I just do it for fun these days, as a hobby.
I've joined the forum to answer app dev questions. When I was learning iOS programming, I found it to be a really usefully thing to do. I would learn all kinds of aspects of the platform both broad and deep just by learning enough to be able to answer posts.
It'll be a little while before I do this. I literally just started looking at the platform yesterday. So I'll get be lurking for the time being until I'll up to speed.
I've got to say I'm very pleasantly surprised at the Android's architecture. I was expected some kind of J2ME mutant, and instead found some geniuses have created something quite spectacular.
