Don't know why it wouldn't let me finish this so here ya go:
Hard times; was let go in "economic downturn"!
As soon as Helicopter Ben opened his mouth & the 2nd qtr numbers came in, mgmt was in "Kaizan" meeting for a week = got whacked.
Tried (cell & text) w/o data. Sucked & still $45 per mo!
Didn't even have a very smart phone.
Android newb here.
Got sick of phone fees, now went the other way. Sold Innuendo phone, bought Samsung Galaxy Player 5, rooted it and now run both GV/IP Groove and PhonePower apps as WiFi only. It ain't perfect, but it's free! ;)

Auditioning apps that scan & auto-connect to open wifi hotspots. I can even tell you where some open/guest hotspots are in my neighborhood.
Currently "Wifi Buddy" is small app that does the job.
Port blocking is a problem like at McDonalds.

You beat me to the punch.
Was gonna ask about SGP. XDA-Developers lists them together. And I suspect they share the same components other than the display (same rez).

Is there a thread or topic for folks like me who are going wifi only?
I could see where many city dwellers are already doing this.
Scanning, connecting & staying connected is the goal.
Need apps that will do this and forget open connection files , things like that.

If there is not such , should we start one?
How far behind am I?
