Help Hidden Call Recording: Feature or Bug?

Hello everyone! I am new to posting on these forms, but I always use them to find help. Great job with the depth of helpful topics!

I was on the phone earlier and was pressing random buttons because the person I was speaking to fell asleep (I swear I'm not THAT boring!). Anyways, by luck (or misfortune) I found that if you press "744" while in a call, you will get a voice prompt saying the call is now being recorded. This announcement can be heard by all participants of the call. Upon dialing "744" a second time, it gives another voice prompt that should say the recording has ceased. Instead, it cuts off and actually silences your call and you must hang up and call that person back in order to keep talking.
I cannot find any posts about this feature. I also cannot find where these recordings are stored. Is this an unfinished feature of the galaxy s3 or just some kind of bug? If anyone can figure out whether it actually works, it would be greatly appreciated!

Lol its maybe a carrier thing...zzzzzZ.... sorry lol.
Theres apps that do same job.
Total Recall emails you a file of the recording.... handy if phone gets stolen or someone tells u to grab a pen n u jst cant find one :)

Welcome to forum btw man

I actually have tried the different apps available for call recording, both widely used ones and ones that are specific to my device. They always have a static problem and they are clear to hear only at random points during the call. So if I can get the native call recording feature to work, that would be the best solution for me.
