How stable is the root on this phone? Is it safe as long as no apps are uninstalled?

I am mad that the lg weather can't be disabled (it's always running in the background), but I've lost an lg l70 and a hydro life from uninstalling system apps, so now I know better!

I found an app called mpcs_Sim lock at /system/priv-app which shows this in its help:

APPLICATION DESCRIPTION

Unlock the device through an application without calling customer care or using an unlock code.

PERMANENT UNLOCK DESCRIPTION. GENERAL ELIGIBILITY FOR UNLOCK.

Permanent Unlock - Select this option if you would like to request a permanent unlock for your mobile wireless device. Certain eligibility requirements apply. Once the mobile device is unlocked, it can work on another carrier's network. Depending on the phone model requesting the unlock service at MetroPCS can be provided either over the air or via and e-mail by providing needed unlock code.

General Eligibility - Please go online for detailed eligibility requirements.

STEPS FOR UNLOCK

Launch the application. On the first screen select continue to unlock the device.Tap Permanent Unlock button to unlock your device.Please wait until the application connects to MetroPCS and requests for unlock.Once an "Unlock Approved" message is received then restart the device to apply the new unlock settings.


I am not responsible if this permanently removes your device from metropcs' network.

Oh sorry. astro file manager, 3.1.409, browse to it, open in app mgr, launch. It shows in my list of apps now too. I did not install it either. It probably would not install anyway.

@Kimberly, i was wondering the exact same thing..browsing it today..only thing i remember for sure is u can turn disable and enable ota update setting from the hidden menu by going into "Wifi Test", then OTA Setting. And can perform various tests that i dont completely understand what they all are honestly.
I see there is a "Fast Dormancy" setting...of course dormancy means sleep so im assuming that is a setting you can enable to make the cpu sleep faster or the phone in its entirety??...your guess is as good as mine ;-)
 
Does anyone know the code for the LG Risio H343? The 277634#*# doesn't work. However the *#*#4636#*#* does work but that's the "testing" menu and not the hidden menu.
