I've noticed that if you go to add shortcuts and then activities to your home screen. You get a list of a bunch of activities for apps and system services, that you don't normally see. I'm just wondering about a couple. First of all the SIM card lock settings, it's locked by default. What would happen if you could unlock that? Though I don't know how you would obtain the SIM pin number to do so.
Secondly there's something called Dynamic Memory Management and a check box to either enable or disable it, it's disabled by stock. Also I'm doing all of this from Sleipnir.

Well I enabled the dynamic Memory manager, so I'll let you know if I see a performance increase. It probably won't be noticeable though

I am guessing the sim lock settings are primarily for versions of the device on gsm networks and is just built into the rom by default but have no usable function. as for the dynamic memory manager, you may actually see some speed improvements if it is a good manager, but as with anything factory,it probably doesn't really push the management to its full ability.

edit: if you are talking about cm9 then that may be another story on the memory management. as for the sim lock settings probably in there for gsm devices.
