I'm running CTMOD 3.5 , I want to try changing the 3G settings to see if it would make a difference on my phone.

I need the Hiddenmenu.apk file. Its not on my phone. How can I obtain it ?

What he basically means is.
Ctmod does not support hiddenmenu menus.
Since it has a different hidden menu that sprint/boost does not recognize.
Its like putting a number code when you only have a lock that opens with keys.

Rarewolf pretty much summed it up. However, don't forget if you really really need to access those menu's you can odin back to a previous stock version and check. The only problem will that would be that you wouldn't be able to install CTMOD because you would lose the ability again. You can however use it to test your 3G settings and see if that made a difference before updating to CTMOD. Just a suggestion. CM7/CM9/MIUI won't allow you to use hiddenmenu.apk as well just in case you were wondering.

If I'm not mistaken, I could have sworn that honeybread6 also doesn't support hiddenmenu. Very few roms do because of how sensitive the requirement is for it to work properly. If honeybread does support it you should be able to access it using some dial codes. I'll post an example below to help you out.

Just to clarify, the hiddenmenu.apk gives you easy access to these hidden menus on the phone. You can get to them without having to use this though. That requires you to use phone dial codes to get to them. There are some posts and charts on the internet that has a listing of them. Now remember you won't be able to access these menus on certain roms UNLESS they support it (like mentioned in previous posts).

There are some dialer codes. You would dial these as if they were a number.

Enable 4gv= Go to your dialer and dial ##3282# enter your msl and you should see a data programming menu select edit you'll be prompted for msl again just re-enter it. Select advance and you should see something like this

1) Turn on USB Debugging in the Settings > Applications > Development menu

2) Change your "DM" mode to USB on froyo
__a) Get your MSL: "adb shell getprop ril.MSL" (if you don't know how to use ADB, ask for help before following this)
__b) Enter the DM menu dial ##8778#
__c) Enter your MSL
__d) Select USB
To change your phone to DM mode for gingerbread
__a)Dial ##7678#
__b)Enter your MSL
__c)Select DM and your phone should reboot in DM mode

Well that's good to know. Glad I was wrong then. The hidden menu's can be quite complex and some of them might not make any sense. Please be-careful though as you can cause some serious damage to your phone while changing some things around.

you dont need hiddenmenu.apk
try this script i made proxy

using root explorer copy it to /system/etc/init.d (mount as r/w). then press and hold on the file and select permissions and select all. reboot and tell me if it works. if it works ill make a post for it for others to find.
 
I couldnt mount as R/W I needed to mount as R/O. I copied it and set checked all permissions minus the three on the bottom.

Restarting phone and ill see how the speeds are doing.

Three tests:

1) Ping: 176ms// Down: 274kbps// Up: 415kbps
2) Ping: 191ms// Down: 492kbps// Up: 286kbps
3) Ping: 227ms// Down: 330kbps// Up: 373kbps

(A test I did yesterday at 2am)
s) Ping: 158ms// Down: 439kbps// Up: 598kbps

Of course thats when no one is on the network so ill test tonight at 1am and see how fast the speeds are because im not noticing a difference.

check if it did change the sittings. open terminal emulator and type"getprop" with out the quotation. scroll up a bit and look for the following and the values should be as follows:
[net.cdma.rtsp.proxy.addr] [0.0.0.0]
[net.cdma.rtsp.proxy.port] [0]
[net.cdma.httppd.proxy.addr] [0.0.0.0]
[net.cdma.httppd.proxy.port] [0]

let me know if it did change them. to exit terminal emulator type exit.
