Help Hide album art from gallery.

Hi. So I put music on my external sd and now all album art is showing in my gallery. Anyway to fix this preferably without using a third-party gallery like quicpic

There is a better gallery type app called QuikPic which will allow you to hide folders and pictures from gallery and it requires very little permissions.

Is your album art embedded as well?

If so the stock player will pick it up without the need for a separate jpg.

You might try the "." rename it may work for you. It will hide the images from gallery.

In Android, if you want to prevent the media database from picking up files in a folder, you can either rename the folder to begin with a period ("."), or add in an empty text file named ".nomedia" into the folder. You may need to reboot after doing this for the media database to pick up the changes.

It is not embedded. Is there a way to do this?

I use mp3tag for windows and puddletag in Linux.

I usually do it as I rip my music. I think retrospectively it would be quite a task depending on how many songs you have.

i now this thread is old. i don't need anyones crap about raising a dead thread. album art showing up in gallery is still a problem even up to kitkat. and most people don't want to use an app to hide it. to solve this problem CHANGE MUSIC FOLDER TO MEDIA. reboot phone go into gallery and they will not be in there anymore. this took a few minutes on mine as media has to be rescanned but it does work.
