Help Hide Split Screen pullout tab?

Hiya,
I just got my Note 3, really love it so far. One thing which is annoying me though is how do I remove or just hide the little pullout / drawer for split screen on the left? I'm sure it's a useful feature to some, but I've been using the 10.1 for a couple months and have never needed.

You can either long press the back button to hide it or use two fingers to pull down the notification bar and uncheck Multi-window to disable it.
