High data usgae after 2.1 upgrade

last week I upgraded to 2.1 on my SE X10 Mini Pro and although I really like it and think it's faster and smoother than 1.6 I have found that if I look at my phone's data usage first thing in the morning it appears to have used over 6mb already.

I have background data switched off, and gps. and wifi is not set up (also switched off). what can be using this much data between 10.30pm and 7.00am?

please help me...

Don't know if you have checked but in Settings>Sony Ericsson>Usage Info make sure it is unticked as this sends to Sony and its something you get asked in the set up but easy just to click through and accept without realising.

thanks for the suggestion rosered bud I don't have. that option under settings>sony ericsson. I have camera, settings download and timescape (which I have disabled).

I have noticed that under my contacts it has their latest facebook status update, I don't have timescape logged into facebook so could it be going in through the facebook application to get their updates every hour or so and thats using up data usage?

I have just looked at the unbilled usage on my account with vodafone and it shows that every 15 moins or so its registering a use that varies between 4kb and 0.5mb. it happens throughout the night and day. so quite a difference and over the course of a day it clocks up a lot of usage that I havent been using.
this has all happened since I upgraded to 2.1. before that it never happened. I suspect its related to an app or something that is running in the background but when I look at the running apps there doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary that is running.
please help as this is driving me mad. for the time being I have disabled the data transfer to see if that helps at all.
