Help High display usage 80% all the time

This happens even with the screen mostly off I have display at 50% So I can see while outside this started happening after the gingerbread update. Help!!!!
 
I am in the same boat here, it says in the battery usage that the display is the most used like 80% however i have noticed a substantial improvement in my battery life my phone actually goes for about 24 hours before I get really low battery. I just dont quite understand why the screen uses that much power. I am on automatic brightness and most of the time it is pretty dim maybe someone has figured the reason!!!
 
Ive read a lot of threads on this topic, both here and on xda. I have the same issue. Before 2.3 my display usage was like %5-%40. Now its %50-%80...I haven't seen a solution yet
