High Rez DAC?

I finally found this on the wikipedia page: System on chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 801

( HTC One M8 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )

I suppose that means that it has a Qualcomm DAC.

Does the Phone have a High Rez Digital to Analogue Converter (DAC) like the new S5?

I can never seem to find any real data for the DAC in phones....Most are junk.

Samsung is advertising it as a 24/192 Hi-Rez Dac, a very rare thing to find.

That is only on the Exynos octa-core processor variant out of India, it has the Wolfson DAC.

Not sure what is on our device..But I can't complain, I have the Sprint M8 and the sound on it is outstanding. Even at full volume I get clear sound with just my standard overly compressed MP3's

I use the USB out to dump the digital signal into an Audioquest Dragonfly so I can play the 24/96 Hi-rez files I have on the phone. I am not asking about the quality of the built in speakers, which I understand is the best offered by anyone but about the ability of the phone to recognize and play a high rez file without downsampling it to CD quality of worse.

If one is happy with MP3 files, than the DAC in almost very phone is fine but if one wants quality, one needs a better DAC...
