Help High Temps in Light/Normal Use?

Hey guys... not trying to start yet another thread regarding overheating issues (feel free to move or delete the thread if it is excessive), but I'm trying to determine if my particular unit needs to be exchanged for excessive heat.

Here is my problem:

1) The phone gets extremely hot when doing any types of games (3d or otherwise)... this I expect. I havn't had any issues with the double blinking lights or reboot loops, so it doesn't seem extreme (hits the 110-115 range it seems).

2) My main problem is that with just a few minutes "regular" usage (web browsing & checking email, no other apps), the phone quickly creeps up to the 105 temp range (and again feels very hot in the hand).

My kids have both remarked how hot my phone is compared to my old 3gs or my wife's bionic (and actually don't like using it as much -- not necesarily a bad thing!!).

Once, I accidently left the phone open to the camera app and put it in my pocket... within about 5 minutes it felt like my leg was on fire! lol.. I was a little concerned.

Again, I've had no reboot loops or blinking lights... BUT it seems like any usage on the phone makes it get very hot (and the screen itself is hot as well, not just the back).

It's winter now, but I imagine this could get even worse next summer with higher ambient temperatures.

Thoughts / suggestions? Is this normal & I should just get used to it, or should I attempt to get another unit?

Thanks!

This has been a big complaint especially from Amazon and Costco buyers. Exchange the phone for another and cross your fingers.

Ok... I got mine at Best Buy. Otherwise it seems very good, and I'm hesitant to return not knowing if the next will have issues, but I suppose its worth a try. I'm still within my 30 day window with them (they actually price matched me to amazon at 200 back before the penny sale, so it was a decent deal).

I got my rezound from Best Buy too. They also priced matched at $219 for me. One reason I like shopping there is that they have a great return policy. Seems like you just got a bad phone. Take it back today and tomorrow you will be a happy camper!

I hope so... just got my new phone & its running pretty hot too. I'll give it some time though. I was, after all, downloading quite a lot of apps over LTE from the store while the wireless guy was basically cleaning up my old phone.

In general though, I think that this is a pretty hot running phone. I guess its hard not to be when you crank up the processor they put in it to 1.5GHz.

I'm glad to see that BB price matched for you as well. Yes, I went with them too because of their easy return policies. The guy also hooked me up with half price on their buyback program... which works out kind of nicely considering the Rezound had such a high regular retail value (700+ I think).

Sigh... the new unit is running with almost the exact same behavior. I wonder if its just me being sensitive. Worse, now the back cover of the new unit seems to have a bit of creak (the BB agent really yanked the heck out of it... it made me cringe). I wonder if I'm being overly paranoid about every little detail now, geez...

i got mine at VZW corp store and the battery cover creaks as well. Several people have reported creaking
