Hey guys... not trying to start yet another thread regarding overheating issues (feel free to move or delete the thread if it is excessive), but I'm trying to determine if my particular unit needs to be exchanged for excessive heat.
Here is my problem:
1) The phone gets extremely hot when doing any types of games (3d or otherwise)... this I expect. I havn't had any issues with the double blinking lights or reboot loops, so it doesn't seem extreme (hits the 110-115 range it seems).
2) My main problem is that with just a few minutes "regular" usage (web browsing & checking email, no other apps), the phone quickly creeps up to the 105 temp range (and again feels very hot in the hand).
My kids have both remarked how hot my phone is compared to my old 3gs or my wife's bionic (and actually don't like using it as much -- not necesarily a bad thing!!).
Once, I accidently left the phone open to the camera app and put it in my pocket... within about 5 minutes it felt like my leg was on fire! lol.. I was a little concerned.
Again, I've had no reboot loops or blinking lights... BUT it seems like any usage on the phone makes it get very hot (and the screen itself is hot as well, not just the back).
It's winter now, but I imagine this could get even worse next summer with higher ambient temperatures.
Thoughts / suggestions? Is this normal & I should just get used to it, or should I attempt to get another unit?
Thanks!
