Hinge problem? Naah.

i do not believe there is a defect in the Z hinge for some of the g2s. i believe the phone is just built like it. to me, yes its a minor inconvience but it really isnt anyting to return the phone. when i first received my g2 it was tight, and the sliding was great, but after a few hours it began to slip. i want to know, if your g2 having a loose hinge? if so, maybe i could take mine to a store for an exchange but i just think its going to be loose.

Don't know if ti's really a problem or not, but it bothered me enough to call and have a replacement sent out. Got it today and it's as loose, if not looser than the first one that I got. I think I'll just send the replacement back rather than go through the hassle of setting up another phone.

Hopefully it won't have an effect on the lifespan of the phone... because this is an amazing device.

yeah, i know what you mean. i guess im just a stickler for the perfect phone. i talked to tmobile and they said thats how the phone is suppost to be built and even admitted to saying it opens and closes on its own. im going to to a little investigating before i make my final decision because i do really love this phone

I've seen that there is a magnet built into the back of the screen but I guess that it's just not strong enough to hold the screen to the rest of the phone when held upside down.

Not only not strong enough to hold it closed with the phone held upside down.... both of the units I've had flip open at 90 degrees.

Still love this phone though!

My G2 has no magnet. My phone will slide open if I hold the back half and turn it upside down, but who would ever hold the G2 like that during normal use?

If you're lying in bed and typing out some emails or txts... So it's not that uncommon I'd think...
