What kind of signal are you getting? Is it occuring in anything else that requires sound, videos, music, etc? Have you updated your PRL(could be the source of poor signal)?
Yes, I experienced a similar issue on my 1st Hero (now on my 2nd and it's fine).
I had encountered static/fuzziness in the earpiece and exchanged my Hero for another one. It was clearly a hardware issue and there was nothing they could do to fix it so I got another one.
My advice to you is to swap it at a Sprint store asap before your 30 days are up.
