Help Hmm hows your battery?

rsarno

Thank Me, Im Irish!
First full day on my dinc2 and it sucked, tbh. However this may not be my phones fault AT ALL

1. its an insurance replacement, so the battery may be very old already
2. im running a custom rom (bonestock)
3. im on different radio (1111)
4. im on diff kernal (drellisdee #21)
5. i installed setcpu and i really dont know what im doing lol

Sooooo just asking, in general how is your battery? I wonder if i should uninstall setcpu, or just buy a new battery, or spring for the extended battery ...

i dont know. This morning i unplugged, streamed music for maybe an hour, played some words with friends, and got to the office (2 hours unplugged) at 65%

If I am on wifi, I get a ton of usage. However, using anything that consumes data while on 3G can do a number on my battery.

The battery life for this phone is very good IMO. I found with my phone and my wife's phone that it takes a few days to get the best battery life. Assuming you do not make too many tweeks over the next couple days you should see your battery life improve.

My battery life is great. I run the MIUI ROM using the 0722 radio and aeroevan 0.7 bfs kernel. Plus, I don't keep auotsync on for anything. Of course, i'm not a big social media guy so I have no need too. I don't do twitter or facebook. I don't use an email\gmail app (I don't even have the gmail and email app installed). When I want to check my email, I do it through the browser. And I only turn on GPS when I need it on. But I will agree with the others, streaming video through 3G will eat up battery in a hurry. Even using wifi will drain it, just not as quickly.

is there any way to test the battery? i mean if i bring it to VZW can they test it and see how old it is, or how far into its life it is?

I don't know that there is an easy way to test a battery. You could always call a battery plus store and ask them.

I run the BONESTOCK rom myself and get superb battery life running the same kernel and radio you listed earlier. I use No Frills cpu for overclocking and Proton for undervolting. Have you taken a look at your battery usage? what is using what for battery life?

I doubt the insurance replacement is going to have a used battery..

If you're worried, charge your battery fully and use a voltmeter to see what its holding at.. Compare that to the number on the back (don't want to pull my battery now to check)

If your reception is bad it could kill your battery in no time.

I got this with an extended battery (not bump charged, streaming music, internet, texting, calls and I used 3g about 20 of those 38 hours; so pretty heavy use):

I can get 10-12 hours streaming audio from my phone to my BT headphones. If I stream directly from the Internet, I can get 8. If I don't do any streaming, then I can get a day and a half. Battery life is very, very good IMO.
