i can get on the internet just fine but it will not let me text or make phone calls. Now every time i try to dial out it tells me my mobile number is invalid and not activated.:confused:
 
you know i did that first plus option 2 i was sbf-ing from 2.3.9 leak to the newer leak. my number was lost forcing me to ##7764726 and enter my information then i noticed i was roaming there for making option 2 an option. that fixed the triangle but not the messages or calls.

Option 2 doesn't program your phone it only updates the towers. Did you try *228 option 1 or *22899 seeing how they do the same thing. That is what programs your phone number into the device.

*22898 is for programing and *22899 is for the PRL update.
 
I have worked for Verizon for a number of years and *22898 is for prepaid. It may program a postpay phone, but it is meant for prepaid. *22899 is not for prl updates however it does update the prl. Its for data provisioning and can be used to activate a phone as well. officially *22890 is just like *228 option 1
 
when i got my DX. i had the same problems (fresh from the store) somehow those options were turned off. i called CS and they turned them on. you will need need a separate phone for them to call you back on.
