hole on back of bionic

so I've had this phone for almost 2 years now, and I just noticed there is a small hole on the back of the bionic. what is it for? it's a hole in the cover, but it seems to be covered by some kind of tape on the phone itself.

That hole is a microphone used to cancel out background noise while talking on a call.

But we've has this option for years......now all we need it's the headphone jack on the bottom of the phone.

Yes ... since I carry my Bionic in my shirt pocket the headphone jack would really be handy at the bottom.
