Holiday return policy ?

So has anyone from Verizon confirmed the holiday return policy? Some people have said you only get 14 days to return if you activate and others have said have until 1/15. Has there been any conformation of which it is ?
I was think of picking up the Rezound to day but want to keep the Nexus option open just in case.

That started Tuesday. Have you tried calling Verizon about it? I would bet most store reps won't bother to mention to you, unless you ask.

I bought a Rezound today and am in the same boat. I really, really wanted a Nexus but my Eris finally gave up the ghost last night, so I had to pull the trigger on something now. When I was buying it I mentioned all of this to the sales rep. She gave me her card and told me that if I brought it back in "after the Nexus comes out" and wanted to swap phones, she'd have to charge me a $30 restocking fee but beyond that it shouldn't be an issue. If anyone gives me any whining I'm supposed to give them her card and let them know to talk to her, as she approved it.

I'm good to go. If I decide to keep this thing, I'll be happy with an awesome phone. If I want to get a Nexus, I pony up a puny $30 and get it instead. I should also mention that with my new every two and corporate discount I got it for $239. So, add another $30 and I still have a Nexus for under the $300 new contract price.

I know people have their complaints about Verizon's customer service, but they just helped me out in a big way.

I think the fact that Verizon's been so quiet about the details means that either they don't want a lot of people returning their phones or they want to get people to buy their phones and then when they go to return them over 1 month after activating, they can point to some fine print that stipulates they can't be returned if they were activated over 14 days ago. "Activation date" and "Purchase date" are two different things.

I purchased my Rezound yesterday from Verizon and was told that I had 14 days to return it. I had read on the web about January dates for holiday purchases. The "Return Policy" at the bottom of my receipt gives the 14 day notice and continues to declare that "purchases (excluding tablets) made between Nov. 15 and Dec. 28 may be returned or exchanged through Jan. 15, 2012 subject to a $35 restock..."

Yeah. So, basically, from what I can gather here's what I think may be going on. Verizon doesn't want to advertise the Holiday Return policy. It's there, but they don't mention it and if you do bring it up, they'll poker face you and quote their normal policy, not the holiday policy. I would just phrase the question, "I have to buy this phone because of (reason here) but the phone I really want is (the nexux) and will be out soon. Can I swap these if I want later?" When they tell you "yes" make sure to have them note your account or give you a card. Problem solved. No questions and no wiggle room for "fine print."

They're either ignorant or truly playing games with this policy. I've talked with three different stores, a Verizon one, a HH gregg and one other and none of them knew about the holiday return policy (or was willing to admit knowing about it...). Yet you go to the Verizon site and hidden pretty well in there, after having to search for it, is the policy. It starts out with the 14 day spiel but down further it mentions the Holiday return. Now...does this work with say Best Buy? Considering getting either the Razr or Rezound tomm and was wondering.

Verizon store employee confirmed yesterday the January 15 return date. As it is clearly printed on the receipt I don't expect that there is an issue at the Verizon stores. The may be the only ones with the policy.

I just bought rezound and had to pull up the policy on my phone to show them... They had never heard of the extended return policy...

I just got mine at Bestbuy. The store that I bought it at (BB mobile store) said that cell phones do not have the holiday return policy but they do have a 14 day to return/30 days to exchange policy.

The policy is for cell phones....maybe bb isn't honoring that policy but its there in black and white. It wouldnt surprise me if BB didn't honor it though...typical

Agreed 100%. The policy is stated clearly on the receipt without any qualifications. As long as you are willing to pay the $35 restocking fee, you should be able to return your phone any time through January 15, regardless of your activation date. VZW would have a very difficult time taking a different position.

The holiday policy is a VZW policy, not a Best Buy policy. If you buy your phone at a VZW corporate store, the holiday policy will be in effect. If you buy elsewhere, you are subject to that store's return / exchange policy. Some are better and some are worse than a corporate VZW store. For example, the return / exchange period that is in effect year-round at Verizon Wireless in Costco is 90 days. If Best Buy is telling you 14/30, that is its policy, and if you buy your phone there, that is the policy that will control your purchase.

Just curious, but I was one of the people that got a Rezound early and now I am wondering if anyone has had any luck getting Verizon to grant the return policy for those who bought a phone before the 15th? I still really love my Rezound but with all of the really positive reviews coming in I am curious if I could get that return policy extended in the off-chance that I really fall in love with the Nexus.

For those who haven't heard, Verizon has a return policy that all phones purchased after November 15th can be exchanged until Jan. 15. However, most Verizon employees have no idea what that it is, so you may have to call until you get a person who knows :p I had to chat with 2 people online, and call 3 people to finally get someone who actually talked to his supervisor and found out about it :D So if any of you are going to return the Rezound after your 14 days, you may want to do this so in-store the employees dont raise hell for you :)

Best thing to do is keep your receipt. I have 2 copies so when i take my Rezound to exchange for the Nexus, i will have proof

This is the funniest thing I read all day. There is no need for any VZW employee to ask their manager about the holiday return policy, the information can easily be found in their internal systems. ;)

What if I buy the Rezound through Amazon does the same policy apply? It's cheaper on Amazon so that is why I am planning on buying it there.

Love how the return date is the 15th, the day after the rezound came out, and 4 days after the razr came out....

Not that I am even considering taking my precious back, lol

lol..
