Holster question

Hi, newb here. Just got my eris and love it. Currently manually updating it since I dont feel like waiting for the OTA one.

Do have a question tho. I searched the forum and didnt find an answer to my question, if I missed it I am sorry. Anyway I want a belt holster for my droid like I had with my previous phone, leather-like and horizontal. The rep at the store showed me one that I ended up buying and figure I will return it later when I find one I like more.

It has a velcro strip on it that I absolutely hate. Noticed this at the store and asked if they had one with a magnet. The rep left and asked around and when he came back said I cant use one with a magnet because the magnet will put it into media mode or something like that. So, my question is if anyone has heard that before and if its true. Cant use my old holster because its too small to test with and I am a little wary about just putting a magnet straight up to it. So to sum up, I would like a holster with a magnet clasp and if its fine to use one does anyone have any suggestions, if not I will learn to like one with velcro. Thanks!

Edit: sorry, I only searched in the eirs forum, apparently droid users have that problem. But my question still stands for any eris users that have this problem. Someone said on the droid forum that eris users didnt have that problem.

You may want to also check out Walmart (of all places). I found a really nice Case Logic horizontal leather pouch with magnetic flap closure and suede interior that fits my Eris like a glove. I thought it was much nicer than the Verizon case and less $$$ as well.

I actually had time to go to walmart and target today to look at holsters. I really like the case logic ones as well, have you had issues with the magnet affecting the phone at all? Still looking for the answer to this cause I really don't believe half the things the verizon reps tell me at the store. I did not see the magnets causing any problems when I was test fitting the phone in holsters, but I have only had it for half a day and maybe I am missing something.

It is formed by a rigid material under the leather, plastic I assume. It has a magnetic enclosure. However, it does not have a swivel belt clip. The belt clip is a stationary unit.

Awesome. I had a feeling that vzw rep didnt know what they were talking about. I think even the droid addressed that issue with an update, not sure how but I think thats what I read.

Thats what I want, magnet close, no swivel clip in horizontal position. Thanks!

I can't wait to take this POS case back to them. The velcro is driving me crazy, but the part that gets me the most is how low quality the case actually feel compared to bargain cases. I've actually see pretty decent quality from my previous purchases at verizon, but this one is horrible. Leather feels cheap and thin and the inside doesnt have any felt or other material to reduce scratches or scuffs to the case or screen. Posted a link below for those that prefer to buy verizon stuff, I would not recommend this case.

Bought this on ebay for $9.95 free shipping. Leather, swivels, magnent latch and very compact. Easy to get Eris in and out and very comfortable to wear.
