Holy battery life Batman!

*cough* but I didn't have cell service for 3 solid days. We went camping in the North Cascades where there were no services what so ever, I never once turned my phone off and on the third day my battery was still over half charged. I used the compass a few times, checked the time often, and looked at photos. Just thought you all might find that interesting, carry on :)

since you had no service and wasnt using your phone it lasted a long time.... ive done the same thing but mine was bc i didnt pay my bill and service was cut off

Want amazing battery life?
Step 1: Charge your phone till its done...
Step 2: Put it on Airplane mode...
Step 3: Set it down...
Voilla you can have the full 162 hours standby time that was advertised ;P

You didn't have cell service, but were you in airplane mode? I would have expected the battery to drain like a sieve constantly searching for a signal.

I have noticed after an hour of no service ( in one of our rf test chambers) the phone will mimic airplane mode where there is nothing in the top bar except a black box where the airplane should be. Once I'm outside for a little bit it comes back but my battery hasn't had a big drop.

Yeah, I thought it went into sleep (network) mode. I had to hit reconnect when I was out of either 3G or Wifi range for a while, although I'm not sure how long that was. Hiking for a few hours or skiing, forgot which. It must be a battery saving feature.

what he's saying and I agree with, is the phone feature is a battery killer. i use mine as a work phone. By noon i have to put on the charger to get through the rest of the day (after about 15, two to five minute calls). but on weekends when i use the phone part two to three times max, my battery is full till 10 O'Clock at night. the phone function does drain the battery bad. But this is a phone so i guess i have to live with that.......

I wouldn't generally say voice is a battery killer. You're probably inside a steel and concrete building at work, and your phone has to work harder with a weaker signal to maintain calls. This will put a drain on your battery. On the weekends, you're out and about among multiple towers without any physical barriers, or you're in your wood frame home. Sure you make fewer calls, but your phone also doesn't have to work as hard while you're talking. While I was on vacation at the beach, I was about 200 yards from a cell tower and my signal bars were always pegged. I could do sunrise to sunset (an easy 12+ hours) on 40-50% of my battery. That's about the best life I've ever experienced and the experience was proof positive that signal strength plays a major role in battery life.

Oh good grief you all...this was supposed to be a "DUH" post, you know like everyone is always talking about battery life etc. and LOOK! I went 3 days on a charge..TOP THAT SUCKERS....sort of joke like.

No offense but rather useless thread. Any phone will last 48 hrs when not in use. And in signal saver mode
