I know this issue has come up in the past with several suggestions, least of which was to perform a hard reset, but I am trying desperately to avoid as I have gone through alot to customize my phone (unrooted).
Anyway, my home and search button quit working. I have done everything but wipe - including turning off and on, removing battery, clearing data and cache of several apps I thought might be culprits, deleting several apps, and adding a different google account.
The problem began when I purchased a bluetooth headset and paired its functionality with vlingo. Whenever I diconnected a phone call via bluetooth while on vlingo, my phone started acting up -including my search and home buttons. I have since gotten rid of vlingo and somehow was able to fix the issue after trying a multitude of the suggestions I listed above. Don't know which one did it but now, can no longer fix the problem
