Help Home/Back Button Freezing

Had the nexus s 4g for two months now and have gone through two phones trying to fix the following issue. Anyone else having this issue and/or know how to fix it? Thanks

Home or back button detects a finger down with or without user interaction. Button does not detect finger up and remains in a long press state for 10 seconds. While in long press state the backlight remains off behind the button in question and long press behavior is executed by Android. When the problem manifests with the Home button, user will be interrupted (confusingly) by the Recent Applications screen. When the problem manifests with the Back button, in most cases user will only notice that they cannot use any of their buttons for 10 seconds before being sent back to their previous screen, but if the user is in an application such as Browser, they will be interrupted by the History screen. I can fix the issue by pressing the power button to lock the phone and then pressing it again to resume my session.

I thought the update to 4.3.5 would fix the issue but it did not. Please help.

Thanks.

Mine acts this way but only when connected to my laptop USB. Phone goes haywire as if I'm touching the screen. Home and back generally dont work. Sometimes unplugging the USB cable gets it working, or I have to power phone off and reset it.

Only happens connected to my laptop. Works fine connected to desktop and USB ports of laptop work fine with other devices. Forums indicate Nexus S 4G is very sensitive to USB voltage levels, cables used etc.

I recently purchased the NS4G, and I have to say I love it.

But the first night I noticed this problem. I dealt with it for 2 full days before I got tired of it.

I ended up exchanging the phone for a new one at Best Buy, also because when I plugged in to transfer pictures and music from my PC, it deleted every picture my old phone had on it.

My recommendation, if you are within the 30 days, exchange it, my new one is flawless. Seems like a few people have had this button freezing.

My menu key freezes sometimes, and sometimes when I press it the keyboard comes up. I am going to rack it up as the swype keyboard I put on here, but the freezing is a bit annoying. I have just, like all the other phones in the past, put too much on it already to just give up and exchange it so easily. I guess since I am in the 30-day window, it would be easier, but still, kind of making me not want to just yet.
