Help home button issue

I have a android hero and normally it works great. But today I turned my phone on and when ever I press the button with the home icon it reacts as if i long press it. This is very annoying when I'm on the internet and have to keep clicking the back button until i have gone through every window back to my home screen. Can anybody help me with this issue?

The button hasn't got "clogged" or sticky with dirt?

Try cleaning it with an alcohol swab, DONT soak it though, just wipe it for a while.

Other than that, don't know.
