Help Home Button Issue

It seems sometimes when I press home, it acts as if I held it down, and it opens the task manager instead of taking me to the home screen. I thought it was a user error but it's doing it more often.

Hi

That sounds like the button is starting get tired and is playing up. You could install Button Savior from Playstore, put the buttons onscreen wherever you want them and bypass the physical buttons.

I don't think I would like that :(

Its only new man. Get it replaced. it does sound like hardware.
I think the best alternatives need root but look for a "pie" style app that doesnt need root.
Pie is where you slide your thumb from the bezel onto the screen to bring up quick controls.
It becomes second nature

MetroPCS won't take back ANY phone with more than a hour of talk time. If you have insurance on your account for an extra $5 per month which I don't, then they would send you a refurb, I would not receive a brand new replacement. I had a NIGHTMARE of a time when my Huawei Ascend bricked itself 48 hours after I bought it brand new ( didn't even know about rooting as this is going back around the time I registered, long time ago. ), the location refused to take it back, sent me to a corporate location and they gave me a refurb after JUST PAYING full price for a NEW PHONE. It pissed me off so much I ended up disputing it with Capital One, and I won, and I got my money back, and I ended up buying the LG Optimus M, well I bought the LOM right after because I knew I would win the dispute.

I don't believe it's a hardware issue. I think it's more related to 4.3 than anything else as I found a bunch of people with the same problem shortly after making this thread.

Short press on home button opens task manager - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
