Root Home Button LED not working?

Hey there,

So, I own a Boost Mobile Optimus F7.

I recently rooted and memory wiped the phone and everything is fine besides the LED.

As you know, the LED lights surrounds the home button and is very pretty and very handy. When I plug the phone into charge, the LED light turns red and behaves normally. When I go into the phone settings, go to "Display", and mess with the setting for the Home Button LED it even works. Sadly, these are the only times that it works.

I am using a third-party messaging app called Messaging 7 and the LED notifications setting on this app is enabled. Everywhere in the phone that there's a setting for an LED notification, I have it enabled.

I tried installing Light Flow and LED tester to see if it works, but those apps also fail to enable the LED light.

Is there a system app that I may have uninstalled that controls the LED light? After I rooted the phone, I used App Master (Uninstall Master) to remove a lot of bloatware and system apps like Google Drive, Dictionary, Video Wiz, etc.

If you know a solution to this, it would be very nice if you can help me out.

I have had this problem before, to my understanding, it's the way that apps handle the "turning on" of the LED light. An app like Skype is able to turn on the LED but I personally cannot assist you any further.

Yeah, for some reason the core system apps can still use the LED.

Like the email app that comes built into the phone. When I receive an email, that lights up green. But I am unable to get the LED working when using third-party apps.

download and install xposed framework. then look for a module called xposed LED control. (or something like that.)

then assign the different colors for different apps that you want :)

I had a similar problem. Did you try the "light manager" app? It has an alternating mode that works only if rooted. It let's you choose specifically which app you want to enable led notification and also which color. That's how I fixed my led problem.

I installed the app and tried both the normal and alternating mode. Neither one worked.
