Help Home Screen Redraws/Flickerng with default LG launcher

Hello, does anyone else experience redraws (widget/app flickering/reloading) when coming out of the lock screen? It happens to me on occasion and it's super annoying. It usually only happens when I am not home and I am roaming around and what not. I don't know what causes it or how to fix it but if any one else can help me with it I would greatly appreciate it. I do not like any other launchers really because they disable unread count badges.

To explain it more thoroughly.. I'm basically saying when I come out of the lock screen and enter the home screen sometimes my widgets will flicker away and come back really quick. It's pretty damn annoying and I'm hoping someone else has a solution for it.

(LG Volt, Boost Mobile, Default Launcher, Not Rooted/No ROMS)

I wonder if you have a lot of background services running taking up RAM. I know when I run a large game and then close out of it, I will see a blank home screen for a few seconds before it "catches up" and then they show.

I'd say we're 98% certain.
Try using Greenify and/or Smapdragon BatteryGuru and see if it helps.

I love this phone. It's absolutely incredible for its value.. that's really the only issue I have with it. What launcher are you guys/gals using?

Those are apps...Greenify is better with root, but it's not required. BatteryGuru is a battery manager designed specifically for our processor. I typically only get what you are taking about at boot up, but I do have delays/lag unlocking.

So would you suggest BatteryGuru or Greenify? Battery life isn't an issue for me. I'm in search for something that will help reduce slowdowns due to low memory (RAM). I'm thinking Greenify maybe?

And thanks for your replies so far. These forums ain't very active.

Both will help with background activity control. That's why I suggested both. Have you disabled apps that you don't use in the app manager?

Really, the best way to get memory under control is rooting and removing extraneous apps.

I will test out Greenify and report back. I don't think I want to run 2 activity control apps at the same time.
There wouldn't be any conflicts. BatteryGuru restricts when apps are allowed to do stuff, while Greenify completely shuts them down. Without root you will have to manually activate Greenify though. BatteryGuru works automatically.

BatteryGuru is telling me that I need to activate location services for it to work but I really like keeping location services off

I use stock launcher and not rooted.

Thanks for the BatteryGuru tip. Going to give that a try.

- What if I enable Locations Service?

- Doesn't that turn on the GPS all the time and use considerable battery?

Thanks

Locations Services just declares what is available to be used when determining your location. No GPS or other locating methods will be used unless you are doing something that requires it, in which case an icon will appear in your status bar to indicate this.
