Help Home screen weather widget Galaxy S2

In stock TW launcher, already have standard widgets including the weather type you see on the advertisements. On the home screen, tap the menu button, tap add, then tap widgets. You should be able to scroll and look for Acuweather.

Other launchers have other widgets, and so do certain apps once installed.

Good link but I'm just looking for a screenshot of the widgets (e.g. all the available Samsung widgets for current smartphones...Galaxy Nexus, S2..etc...all widgets for HTC phones...etc.).

Why would you need screenshots of all widgets? And widgets depends on launchers and application installed as well, so it might not be the same for all phones and makes.

Hi Russell,

I haven't bought my smartphone yet. Researching. Like to know what widgets are available for with brand/model of phones. Which is why I am hoping to see screen shots of the widgets too. Not a big deal. Just a curiosity. Won't be buying till next year any how. Just wanted to know if there isn't a website with screen shots of currently available widgets.

By the time I'm ready to buy (for various reasons) the Samsung Galaxy S3 might be out. HTC Amaze 2...etc. And dare I say iPhone 5.

Didn't know widgets are dependant on the "launchers" and "apps installed". I'm totally new to smartphones. Still using a flip phone. :) Just thought my next phone should be a smartphone. Most likely an Android based phone.

IP4 have no widgets. IP4s have a couple but can't add more officially.

As for Android, HTC and Samsung have slightly different widgets. But if you have SGS2, you can still get similar HTC widgets. In short, you can pretty much get anything you want by looking for it. I have widgetsoid which allows me to customize individual buttons for different usage. Go Launchers have widgets for agenda, sms, etc.

If you look at the thread for people to post their homescreens, you can see amazing variety for widgets that people place on it. :D

That's what is partly turning me off from buying even the iP5 when it comes out. Lack of widgets. Which to some shouldn't matter. I like them.

Will look for the threads you mentioned where owners post photos of their home screens. Maybe they have some widgets not commonly seen on review sites.

Janley,

You do realise there are 2 capacitive buttons beside the Home Button right? Press the left one which is the menu button at the homescreen and follow the instructions already given. The right one is a back button.

long press anywhere on the screen, click widgets, scroll to what widget you want displayed

This thread has been amazingly helpful. However, I haven't quite reached a solution. I now have the accuweather widget on my home screen but are unable to increase the size following the advice in this thread. When I long press I get a white box which will move the widget but not increase its size. Please help!

When you long press it, you must keep your finger steady. You cannot move your finger. Just long press until yellow box appears around the widget. That's what I remember from when using TW last time. Using GoLauncher now.

Cheers

Thanks Russell. I stumbled on the answer by accident. It wasn't until I actually took my finger off that the YELLOW sizing box appeared. So, all good now and thanks for taking the time to offer assistance.

Have you found a solution for this weird issue?? I am having this problem for several days now and I could swear that it worked with 3G in the past!!

Yes, I have the same problem all of the sudden.
Two identical phones, mine and the Mrs... both the same issue.
