is it possible to get 5 apps across home screen same as note 1 as I have 25 apps on my note 1 and only 16 on my new note3 thanks in advance IAN.

Its possible but not using the touchwiz launcher but one of the many other launchers on the market. Most give a free version to see if you like it

I use the NEXT 3D Launcher and that allows you to do 5 across very nicely!
