home security

I think if you go to best buy you can get a web cam that has a dedicated web address ( secure) for your viewing. Now as far as an app I'm not sure but probably lol. ADT has an awesome home security package with the app.
 
Welcome to AF hopefaith! I have a security system with Vivint that allows me to do this, but Elizabeth is correct, if all you want is the camera, I would check out what she recommended.
 
Oh I just want to hook up a web cam in my house an view it on my phone, I work for an alarm company in Havasu Part time just not sure if I want to get that service or go with a web cam. Thanks
 
Try Camcloud... they have a cloud service that connects you webcam securely to your Android. Note that they don't have an app, they've built a mobile version of the site. You need to register on the desktop site, then once you have an account you can connect via the mobile device.

Other options include Vitamin D software, but you'll need to setup a webserver or get a remote access app... very powerful but gets complicated.
 
^^^ agreed Camcloud works great, but does kick you offline once in a while, other then that works great, and also offers motion recording which is great. The support is also another great feature offered.
 
OK after playing a little with Camcloud, I did notice another thig, you can only get on the free version, one hour of live viewing, so I guess that defeats the purpose, and on the motion detection recording are allowed 100 MB which will record only 60 seconds of recording per motion, then you have to delete those recording as I assume it will add up quick. So if this is something you are interested in, you will most likely have to add the pay service but even at that for the price they don't give you much live viewing per month, so something to look into before paying, 10 hours a month for paid service will go fast.

If anyone out there knows of other apps similar that allow for free viewing let us know and I will test it out.
