So I finally have cm7 on my phone. How do I go back to home screen. Without hitting. The back key.

Go into your app drawer. There is an app called Spare Parts. Run it and you'll find the option to change your home button in there.

BTW, if you go into your keyboard options, you should find the option to turn off the automatic period when you double hit your spacebar.

Open your AP DRAWER. Scroll to SPARE PARTS. Select END BUTTON BEHAVIOR. Select GOT TO HOME. Hope that helps!
